A public service informational website of the Lewis Mumford Center for Comparative Urban and Regional Research in Albany, N.Y., primarily offering information from the 2000 census analyzing the increasing diversity in metropolitan areas in terms of ethnic and racial composition. United States Historical Census Data Browser
This historical census web site allows you to browse census data on the people and the economy for states and counties from 1790 to 1960. The data category provided for the censuses from 1790 to 1830 are simply the variables for each of those censuses, whereas for the censuses from 1840 to 1960 the data categories include Agriculture, Education & Literacy, Manufacturing & Labor, Marital Status, Place of Birth, and Population Characteristics, etc.
