Frequently Asked QuestionsLiteracy CouncilAs an adult, where can I get help learning English or learning to read? The Fairfield County Literacy Council (FCLC) is a volunteer organization which provides one-on-one tutoring in reading and writing to adult learners. Tutors set up convenient times and places to meet with students. Meeting places include the Main Library, the Pickerington Library, cooperating churches and cooperating schools. The Literacy Council also teaches ESL (English as a Second Language) to help immigrants move toward becoming U.S. citizens. Tutors are trained through ProLiteracy, an organization which promotes global literacy. A messaging center is provided through the Fairfield Couty District Library.
