Borrowing Materials from Other Libraries

Need an item the Fairfield County District Library doesn't own? If you do not find an item you want or need at the Fairfield County District Library nearest you, Library staff will try to borrow the item for you from another library. There is no charge for this service. Ask a Librarian or call 653-2745, ext. #166, for more information.


Computer Workstations

Computers are available at all Library locations for word processing use.


Directory of Lancaster and Fairfield County Community Organizations

The Fairfield County District Library produces and maintains a list of Lancaster and Fairfield County Community Organizations. The printed list is available at the Friends of the Library's store, Books & Such, for $3.00. Call the Reference Department at the Main Library, (740) 653-2745, ext. #167, for more information or to update an organization's information.


Exhibits

The Main Library's Third Floor Gallery showcases a wide variety of exhibits, from work by local artists to traveling exhibits from the Smithsonian. Exhibits change approximately every six weeks.


Golden Buckeye Card

Golden Buckeye Card applications are available at all Fairfield County District Library locations. You will need to show identification to complete the application and to receive your Buckeye Card.

Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms at the Fairfield County District Library are available for educational, cultural, civic and governmental groups serving Fairfield County to conduct non-profit meetings and conferences.


Internet Access

The Main Library and all branch libraries offer customers access to the internet after they complete an orientation. Parental permission is required for children under age 18 to access the internet.


Photocopiers

The Fairfield County District Library provides self-service photocopiers for customer use throughout the Main Library and branches. The cost is 20 cents per page. The photocopiers will accept nickels, dimes, quarters, one-dollar bills and five-dollar bills.


Programs & Events

The Fairfield County District Library offers a variety of free programs to entertain everyone, from babies to adults. A complete listing of current offerings may be found online or in our bimonthly newsletter, Keywords.


Services for Teachers and Homeschool Parents

Library staff will gather a Teacher's Collection on a specific topic, place a group of books on special reserve for a project, or create a subject specific booklist on a particular topic. A minimum of 3 days advance notice is requested to gather a teacher collection.


Speakers Available

Library staff members are ready to take a program about the library to groups and organizations, or groups and organizations are invited to hold their meeting at the library and receive a tour of the facility. Call the library nearest you for more information.


Tax Forms

The Fairfield County District Library is a distribution site for Federal, State and local tax forms and instructions. A wide variety of forms are available at the Main Library, while the branch libraries and bookmobile carry a supply of the most requested forms only.



Tours & Class Visits

Library staff will be happy to provide Library tours to groups or school classes. Sufficient notice is required. Call the location you wish to attend to schedule a tour or class visit.

Voter registration forms are available at all Fairfield County District Library locations.
