Symbolism: Combining Art & Science Opening Reception

Date:  Sunday, June 9, 2013  2:00pm - 4:00pm
Type:  Art Exhibit
Location:  Main Library

The public is invited to meet artist, Tim Bohach, on Sunday, June 9, 2013 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Library’s gallery located at 219 North Broad Street, Lancaster. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.

Tim Bohach’s artwork illustrates the beauty of symbols. First Bohach believes that there is an aesthetic appeal—the graceful curve of circular form to the geometric poetry of lines and angles. There is also a deeper, more cerebral elegance in the forms. It lies in their ability to convey complex concepts and ideas in a way that is simple and succinct.

Because of its importance in everyday life, the symbols Bohach has chosen to depict are from the field of science - representations from the realms of physics, chemistry, and engineering. All of the paintings are done in acrylic on unprimed canvas.

The exhibit will run from Sunday, June 9, 2013 through July 6, 2013 and can be viewed during normal library hours.
