Outreach Services

Outreach Services delivers library materials to 27 daycares and nursing homes on a monthly basis, as well as a small homebound population. We provide regular and large print reading materials, as well as videos, DVDs, and books on tape and compact disc for our users. These collections are customized to have the types of materials that an individual or institution needs. Bookmobile

Bookmobile service was restored in the fall of 2006 when FCDL purchased a custom designed "elf" from Farber Specialty Vehicles in Columbus. Previously, bookmobile service had been discontinued after statewide budget cuts which began in 2001. With the community support of a five-year levy beginning in 2005, six locations throughout Fairfield County now have weekly bookmobile stops. Books, movies, music, magazines and audio books make up the materials carried by our library wheels!

On Fridays, the Bookmobile will begin scheduling visits to preschools, daycare centers and senior/retirement centers. If you are interested in scheduling a regular visit at your center, please contact our Outreach Services Department at 740-756-4391.
