Meeting Room Space

Meeting rooms at the Fairfield County District Library are available for educational, cultural, civic and governmental groups serving Fairfield County to conduct non-profit meetings and conferences. Meeting room space is available free of charge to eligible groups. Consult the Use of Library Premises Policy for complete guidelines on using Library meeting rooms.

Meeting rooms at the Main Library are located on the third floor.

Facilities are handicapped-accessible.

Seating

  • Board Room: Seats a maximum of 15. (Maximum seating includes 10 chairs around a large table with 5 chairs in a second row)
  • Gallery: Seats up to 35 depending on arrangement and available space. Rectangular tables (measuring 6' by 3') are available.

  • Kitchen facilities (a signed application for kitchen use is required)

The library does not provide: table linens, dish towels, dishcloths or disposable paper items. The food, beverage, and coffee supplies of the kitchen cupboards and refrigerator may not be used.

Monday and Thursday 12:00pm - 8:00pm
Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00pm - 5:00pm
Sunday 1:00pm - 5:00pm

To make a reservation

Meeting room space may be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis, with Library use getting first priority. Each organization that requests the use of a meeting room must complete an application form to confirm the reservation. An organization may use meeting room space once per month and meeting rooms may be booked up to 3 months in advance. The Library does not automatically schedule forward for on-going meetings. Each group must contact the Library when it is time to reschedule. To make a reservation call the Main Library's receptionist at (740) 653-2745, ext. #100.

Other Important Information:

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages, use of tobacco products and burning of candles or open flame containers are prohibited on library premises.
  • Because meeting room space is also used for public exhibits all meetings and events are open to the public.
  • The meeting spaces should be left in the condition in which they were found.
  • The Library reserves the right to reject any application for use of library premises. Any abuse of meeting room privileges or contracts can result in the suspension of these privileges.
