The Main Library's automated phone system and voice mail enables staff to serve customers more efficiently. Call the Main Library, at 740-653-2745, then enter the extension number of any one of these departments or listen for additional options. Press "0" at any time during the message to speak to a receptionist. Consult the list below to learn where to direct specific requests.


Administration: extension 100

Calls for the Library Director, the Administrative Secretary or other library supervisors should be directed here. This is also the extension to call to make reservations for Third Floor Gallery meeting room space.


Books & Such: extension 159

Friends of the Library volunteers in Books & Such a used book and gift store, will be happy to answer questions or supply current hours and sale information.


Circulation: extension 511

The Circulation Department will renew items and check your library account, fines or overdue items. You may also check your account online with just your Fairfield County District Library Card and PIN in hand.


Information: extension 129

Call this extension to get information or place holds on Library materials.


Magazines and Newspapers: extension 101

To get information on the Library's magazine and newspaper collection. Staff at this extension will also be happy to take reservations for adult programs.


Reference: extension 510

The Reference Department provides full reference services with a wide array of electronic and traditional reference sources. This department will be happy to answer your questions in person, over the phone, or by e-mail. Youth Services: extension 514

The Youth Services Department provides information on children's books and other materials. Contact this department to register for children's programs, schedule a classroom visit, or arrange for a teacher's collection of materials.
